My favourite road in Connemara is the Skyroad (unfortunately well-known by all the tourists in the area, but nevertheless worth a drive). Your tour starts with a view at the old Clifden Castle.
Making your way to the top the horizon over the Atlantic Ocean broadens and the breathtaking shots come more and more into view. On top of the road there is a little parking space to take a rest and to enjoy the magnificent scenery.
Absolutely beautiful in the evening and if you are lucky you will be there on one of the summer evenings where all the Ocean fog comes to the country and makes the whole scenery even more pretty.
