2. Connemara Pony Show.
Third week in August , Clifden
I love connemara ponies so every year no mater how busy I am I get to Clifden ( it’s 15 min away) to join thousands of Connemara pony enthusiasts from all corners of the planet there to see the finest ponies.
3. Connemara Sea Week.
Late October , Letterfrack
A multi disciplinary 10 day festival in its 30th year celebrating the rich Connemara Marine heritage . The part I like best is Some of the The beat traditional Irish musicians in the world come to our little village over the 2 weekends but there’s lots lots more . (Great fire show)

4. Bia bo finne.
Inish boffin, 3- 5.october
A festival of local food and drink that’s in its second year and already huge , mostly due to the large amount of content . A lot of people at the top of their game take the boat to take part in a great wend on a magic western Island .

5. The Galway Races
Late July early August , Galway City
The whole city takes part, it’s Galway at its best. On the Thursday it looks like the city is going to a wedding. Great racing to.
6.Connemara International Marathon.
April 12 Lough Lnagh and Leenane
This event sells out every year . It attracts runners from all over the world . Half, full and ultra marathons on a lonely hilly course .
7. Clifden Arts Festival.
17 – 27 September , Clifden.
Lots of big national and international acts and a fantastic grand parade on the last Saturday . Now in its 39 th year .
8. Connemara Bog Week
Late May , letterfrack
Similar to see week but focusing on the land. Conamara bog week adds a competitive bike race , the Connemara walkabout ,a fun run, music workshops and a mini boat race are just some of the high lights at a festival where everyone gets involved.

9. Water Sports Day.
Mid August Glassilaun Beach
One of the most iconic beaches in Connemara hosts this great family day out. Donkey and pony rides , sandcastle comp , speed boat rides and scuba diving are some of the attractions at this charity event .

10. Connemara Rough Diamond Adventure
Letterfrack September 27
A mix of hiking cycling and running with a fun assault course.This adventure is both a test for the best and mighty craic for those who like a mix of fun and fitness. 22 and 46k options.
