10 – The best closeby beaches

The beaches in Connemara have splendid scenery which begines with the turquise waters and white sandy beaches. There a handful of beaches many of which are off the beaten track. With 8 beaches within 15 minutes of the Lodge you are spoilt for choice. You can walk, run, jump, do whatever you like with big beaches, small beaches, long beaches, and short beaches. Experience the freedom of your own isolation. Sea Shore walks. Walk along the sea shore and unwind to the sound of the waves. Stop for a moment, perhaps have a picnic in the splendid glory of the Connemara seascape.

Beach Locations
Ross Beach is to the West. To the North turning left at Tull Cross, there is the White Strand and Renvyle. Turning right at Tully Cross towards Killary Fjord takes you to: Lettergesh beach , Culfin beach and Glassillaun  beach.

All the beaches are suitable and idyllic in their own right. They are suitable for swimming. Adjacent to Glassillaun  beach there is a comprehensive dive centre where you can try a dive  or do various courses on offer. Sunset on the beaches provide a great opportunity for photography offering incredible vista views.

Strolling on the beach is probably the most popular activity year round and is popular with guests.
